Role overview

To assist the Directors in delivering high quality pension administration services to existing and potential clients. Duties include managing and overseeing the day-to-day operations of all aspects of pension administration carried out by the team. The individual will have responsibility for oversight of the administration of a portfolio of pension clients. 

Job accountabilities

Management of operations of the company include supervision and oversight of:

  • General administration in relation to the establishment and transfer of personal pension schemes
  • General administration in relation to occupational pension schemes
  • New business procedures for client take-on including system set up
  • Re-registration of pension assets
  • Appointment of third parties e.g. asset managers, auditors, custodians
  • Calculation and payment of member benefits
  • Maintenance of system and company records including the preparation of minutes
  • Company secretarial duties in relation of the Company
  • Preparation of annual member statements
  • Preparation of reports and information required by Scheme auditors
  • Collation of information for statutory returns in relation to the Company and the Company’s schemes
  • General assistance with other administrative duties as and when requested
  • Book-keeping
  • Invoicing and payment of members’ fees and third party expenses
  • Ensure team are billing in accordance with fee schedule and work with Finance Team to ensure invoiced
  • Keeping up to date with regulatory and legislative requirements and ensuring our policies and procedures align with these changes
  • Ensuring all pension administration is properly executed with due regard to risk and all reporting requirements meet
  • Management of any outsourced administration
  • Review and approval of annual accounts for individual and scheme financials

Minimum education and experience

  • Educated to ‘A’ Level standard, or equivalent
  • A minimum of six years’ relevant experience
  • Attainment of a relevant professional qualification

  • Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships in accordance with Praxis standards
  • Demonstrated ability of managing a team
  • Strong and effective negotiation skills
  • Excellent critical analysis and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work to deadlines independently
  • Effective business writing skills
  • Excellent knowledge of Pension Schemes
