Praxis announces senior appointment to its yacht management team
Praxis Yacht Services has appointed Giles Sedgman as Head of Safety Management, a key role in its Yacht Management service offering.
Giles is a qualified Chief Mate 3000 and Officer of the Watch Unlimited and holds degrees in business management and marine operations. He has 16 years’ extensive industry expertise and a wealth of knowledge in establishing and managing safety management systems, managing operational yachts and re-commissioning classic yachts. He also has experience working on commercial ships.
His most-recent role prior to joining Praxis was chief officer on a 66m yacht based in Dubai. As part of his new role, for which he will be permanently based in the UK, he is taking on the position of Designated Person Ashore. Giles will be the yacht’s first point of contact for safety or regulatory questions, flag state and classification society regulation management, overview of yacht and crew insurance matters and be the emergency contact point.
