PraxisIFM London supports mentoring initiative
Seven members of our London office have volunteered to be Envision business mentors throughout the academic spring and summer terms.
Envision is a UK charity supporting young people from disadvantaged backgrounds to build confidence and develop employability skills by tackling real-world social problems. The role of the scheme's business mentors is to support the young people to develop their communication skills and social confidence as well as providing an insight into the world of work. The volunteers from our Private Client & Corporate Services team will each attend three mentoring sessions that are two hours in length which will be delivered via online platforms.
Donna Shorto Managing Director of our UK Corporate Services team said: 'The teams here in the London office are very excited to start their mentorship roles. We each recognise the value of having received support and guidance in our youth and how key that was in becoming the professionals we are today. This is our chance to give that privilege back to young people through a programme that at the same time shines a light on real social issues in the world right now.'
Edward Butler Corporate Partnerships Manager at Envision said: 'It's our aim that every young person whatever their background has access to opportunities to develop the confidence and character they'll need to progress their personal career aspirations and contribute to society. The business mentors are a fantastic way to harness the local resource of insight and expertise and not to mention a truly rewarding opportunity for professionals to support and inspire young people.'
