Preston joined Praxis in 2019 with extensive accounting and financial knowledge and experience in Guernsey and Beijing.
History
Prior to joining Praxis, Preston worked for five years as a senior business controller for Credit Suisse in Guernsey, where he oversaw the accounts payable function and was responsible for financial management control and information systems, management accounting, and internal controls.
Preston spent 10 years overseas. He worked as an investment manager for a private equity firm in Beijing, mainly involved in IPOs, and he also worked for IBM as a senior financial analyst before moving to Guernsey in 2011.
Preston holds a bachelor of science degree in international finance from Dalian University of Technology and a master of arts degree in finance and investment from the University of Exeter. He is a chartered member of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment and a fellow member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants. He also holds a diploma in Company Direction from the Institute of Directors and a Certificate in Treasury from the Association of Corporate Treasurers.
Roles and responsibilities
Preston joined Praxis as Group Financial Controller in August 2019. Based in Guernsey, he oversees the management accounting functions, conducts in-depth financial analysis, and offers financial perspectives and opinions to executive management.
In May 2023, Preston was promoted to Group Head of Management Information & Treasury, where he is responsible for building SQL databases, a Power BI-based management information system and has a Group Treasury function.
As Group Financial Controller, Preston oversees the management accounting functions. He also performs in-depth financial perspectives to the Group's executive committee.
