- Initial 6 months provisional registration prior to full registration
- Original title documentation and deletion certificate required from last flag (if applicable) for full registration
- Annual renewal of Certificate of Registry
- Commercial yachts must comply to the Maltese commercial code
- Full tonnage/safety survey with engine room dimensions required – ITC69 for yachts over 24 meters
- Radio installation form to be completed and signed by authorised surveyor with copy of EPIRB test report etc
When considering which flag to use for say a Maltese ownership, documentation required and fees to register a yacht at Malta can be higher than many other jurisdictions.
